The Dead

George Lass
Georgia "George" Lass

George is the newest grim-reaper. In life, she was a misfit who had no real purpose or direction. She had droped out of college without finishing the first semester and still lived with her parents. She had no real friends or relationships - she wasn't even close with her family. In death, all that is starting to change. She's now forced to take care of herself. Plus, she finally has a purpose - taking the souls of the soon-to-be-dead and leading them to their afterlife.

Died: Hit by space debris (a toilet seat from MIR).
Rube
Rube

Rube is the leader of the grim-reapers. He recieves the initials and estimated time-of-death for each person about to die as the result of outside influences (suicide, accidents, murder). Then, he assigns a grim reaper to each death to make sure their soul is removed before their death. He is slowly becoming a father figure to George by giving her guidance and advice on dealing with death, the afterlife, and her new role as a reaper.
Mason
Mason

Mason died in the 1960s and has been a reaper since. He's a bit of a bad-boy and has no problem stealing to get by. It's either that or getting a job, afterall. He's become good friends with George and Daisy recently.

Died: Drilled a hole in his own head while chasing a permanent high.
Roxy
Roxy

Roxy is a rough, tough, no-nonsense type of reaper. She's one of the few reapers with an honest job. Her main priorty is to fulfill her quota of souls so she may graduate to the next stage of afterlife. She does have a heart under all that bravado, though.

Died: Strangled in the 1980s with the leg warmers she had "invented". Her friend then murdered her and stole the idea, thus becoming wealthy.
Daisy
Daisy

Daisy Adair is a beautiful actress who seems to have had sex with everyone in Hollywood. She replaced Betty after she left. She worked in New York before being transfered. She is a very sweet and caring reaper who does not really understand her place in the world.

Died: On the set of Gone with the Wind.
Betty
Betty

Betty was a glamourous and quirky reaper who loved to gossip and chat with the other reapers. She and George were just starting to become good friends when Betty jumped into the "door" that was leading one of the dead to their afterlife. It's not known what happened to Betty after jumping, but she never cared much for falling or landing anyway. She just loved to jump.

Died: Jumped off a cliff.

The Living

Joy Lass
Joy Lass

Joy is George's mother. The two spent much of George's life arguing and never seemed to understand each other. Now, she is dealing with George's death, Reggie's odd ways of dealing with George's death, and her distant relationship with her ex-husband.
Clancy Lass
Clancy Lass

Clancy is George's father. He is a professor at a local university and once had affair with one of his students (that caused the end of his marriage). He is also struggling with George's death and Reggie's peculiarness. He doesn't agree with how Joy is handling Reggie's problems.
Reggie Lass
Reggie Lass

Reggie is George's peculiar eleven-year-old sister. She is coping with her older sister's death is by collecting toilet-seats. She's using the toilet-seats in a memorial she's made near her home. This has gotten her into a lot of trouble since she's stealing the toilet seats from neighbors and nearby buildings.
